Fitness Goal Setting

Failing to Plan is Planning to Fail....That pretty much says it all. Setting goals and planning your approach is vital to your success in fitness. Also, staying motivated and on the right path can be tricky at times, so using many approaches to stay “in the game” is smart. Every day I sit down and plan out tomorrow. Why do I take the time to do this? I do this because I have goals. I have things I want to achieve. Without a definite plan in place, I know I am likely to flounder around and accomplish nothing. Goals and planning keep me focused. Having goals helps in decision-making too. When you know where you want to be it's easier to make the right choices along the way. There are many ways to keep your mind on your goals. You can cut out pictures of what you want to achieve or what you want to look like. Look at these pictures as much as possible to keep the images front and center in your head. You can also try self-help programs. Discover powerful self improvement programs guaranteed to give you a new attitude, provide you with increased motivation and new visions of you reaching your success. Build confidence in meeting challenges and turn problems into opportunities. Visit Bright Images Self Help Center for helpful Tips, Tools and Resources to assist you in reaching all of your personal self improvement goals. Self-help programs like these are great because you can listen to them in the background and keep doing what you're doing.
I also like to model my goals after people who have already achieved the end results I'm looking for. There really is no need to re-invent the wheel. Just do what they did and you should get a very similar result. Be flexible with your approach and willing to adjust things as you go along so you continually move toward your goals. I have read several amazing books on goal setting. One of my favorites is Goal Setting, by Tom Venuto, and it is fantastic. He really lays out everything for you so you can easily set up goals for yourself that are measureable and attainable. By the time I got done reading this book I was really excited about setting goals for myself and formulating a plan to achieve them! I think you'll find this book invaluable. If you really want to plan out your whole diet and workout regimin, you can look into Burn The Fat Feed The Muscle, by Tom Venuto. This book is INTENSE, so be forewarned! However, it is the best book I've read about diet, nutrition, and designing your plan.
